A play on "nom de guerre" (war name, like Dracula or Aegon the Conqueror or The Bloody Baron), nom de verre literally means "Glass Name" in French. Many glass pipe artists use pseudonyms, much like a stage name, to brand their work. Famous artists like Salt (Luken Sheafe), Snic (Nick Barnes), and JMass (Jay Massey) are often better-known by their glass names than their birth names. The tradition comes from a history of pipe-artists being discriminated against. GRAV's cheaf designer, Micah Evans, goes by Micah Evans in the glass world. He's got a Ralph Lauren thing going on.
