Shipping & Ordering
Check your neighbors' porches. If you have a door camera, check the footage to see if a delivery was actually made and if anyone swiped it.
If you still can't find it, reach out to [email protected] with your order # and we'll get in touch with the shipping carrier on your behalf.
We ship anywhere in the U.S.
- Standard DHL shipping for free
- Standard UPS shipping for $5.99 on any order
- FedEx Ground for a flat rate of $8.99 on orders under $150, free on orders over $150
- FedEx 2-day at whatever rate FedEx charges for that order (differs based on your address and the size of the box)
The above options refer to what's on offer for domestic shipments to the lower 48 states. Shipping options may vary for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
Yes! We offer free DHL shipping on all orders, and free ground shipping with FedEx on orders over $150.
We will ship your order in 1-3 business days (it's usually 1, but we say 1-3 to be safe around holidays and busy periods).
Please be aware, this lead time only refers to how long it will take GRAV to hand a package off to the carrier (DHL or FedEx). It does NOT refer to the transit time - the time it takes the carrier to deliver it to you after they pick it up from GRAV.
Credit Card (VISA, American Express, Mastercard, Discovery Card) and Sezzle (pay in installments).
We ship very quickly, so please reach out to us as soon as possible for any order cancelations or modifications.
Email [email protected] with your order # and what you'd like to do (cancel the order, change an item, add something, remove something). We'll do our very best to intercept the order before it ships.
If your order does ship before we can cancel or adjust it, don't worry. We'll contact the carrier and have it returned to us, and we'll get you the refund or replacement you need.
Sezzle is great! You just create a Sezzle account, and then at checkout select Sezzle as your payment option. Sezzle will bill you in 4 installments, and as long as you're not late with any payments, there are no associated fees or interest.
Please be aware that you'll be paying Sezzle directly, so if you need any assistance with a refund or have a billing question, you'll need to contact their support team.
Reach out to [email protected] with your order # and the discount code you intended to use, and they'll help out with a partial refund if you're eligible. Please keep in mind that some discount codes don't stack.
If you were placing an order for a GRAV product on a different online store, we can't help with any discount code issues.
100%. You'll get a nondescript brown box. The shipping label will say it shipped from Gravitron LLC.
Replacements
Generally, GRAV does not accept returns (keep reading for specifics). But that's ok, that doesn't mean you're not eligible for a replacement or refund. Most issues can be resolved without returning anything.
The only circumstances in which we will request a return is if you received the wrong item or an item you know you don't like (too big, don't like the color). In either case, you'll need to return the item without using it.
Please don't return anything to GRAV without speaking with [email protected]. If we get a return that doesn't have a corresponding RA number, we'll dispose of it and you won't be eligible for any refund or replacement.
If your item is broken, please dispose of it safely in the trash. Please DON'T return broken items to us.
If your item has been used, no matter how lightly, please DON'T return it to us. Even if you've cleaned it thoroughly, it's not worth the risk. It's illegal to ship items with drug residue.
- Make sure the area is safe. Carefully clean up any broken glass on the floor or any surface area where it might harm someone.
- Take a picture of the broken item (or what's left of it)
- Send the picture to [email protected] along with your order # or proof of purchase and a brief message of what happened.
- Once our Support team confirms they have all the info they need, safely dispose of the broken item in an outside trash can or dumpster.
- Take a picture of the wrong item.
- Send the picture to [email protected] along with your order # or proof of purchase and a brief message describing what was in your package (sometimes one item is right and another is wrong, sometimes the wrong item is in addition to what you actually ordered, etc.)
- Our Support team will let you know what to do next.
- Don't dispose of the product just yet, we may need to confirm some details about it.
- Reach out to [email protected] with your order # or proof of purchase and a description of the issue.
- Our Support team will ask some follow-up questions and then determine what the appropriate next steps should be.

6 months for defects! (We realize you don't know some things are wrong until you use a product, so you've got 6 months to figure that out and let us know.)
10 days from the date the order was delivered to let us know something arrived broken or you received the wrong item/a missing item. Once you've got your package in hand, it shouldn't take too long to figure out if you got everything you ordered and it's all intact.
Here’s the short and sweet answer. If you receive a broken item, we’ll replace it. If something is missing from your order we’ll replace it. If you receive an incorrect item, we’ll replace it. And if a GRAV product is defective and you report that defect in the first 6 months of owning it, we'll either replace it or settle the issue with store credit. For more details, general questions, or help with a claim, contact [email protected].
Products
Reach out to our team at [email protected] to ask if the store is an authorized GRAV retailer and if the listing looks legitimate. If you're planning to purchase from a brick-and-mortar store, you can always take a picture and send it to us for verification. It might take a day or two to get back to you, but there's nothing like peace of mind!
As of 2024, GRAV does not make carrying cases for any of our products. It's not currently in our wheelhouse, but we're always learning and we hope to offer cases someday.
In the meantime, we recommend visiting our partner store, 420science.com, for a great selection of smell-proof cases and bags.
Also, most GRAV boxes (the ones our products are packaged in, not the outer box they're shipped in) are nice to look at and perfectly fit your pipe. If you're worried about damage, we recommend you store your pipe in its box between uses.
The most common issues with downstems are issues with fit. Sometimes the bulb of a downstem might not fit through the opening of the ground joint. Sometimes the downstem is too long, and its tip hits the base of the water pipe. In either of these cases, please reach out to [email protected] for a replacement.
Downstems can get clogged, limiting airflow through the pipe. If the downstem is removable, simply take it out and clean it. You can refer to the cleaning section of our FAQ list for guidance. If the downstem is fixed inside the pipe, you’ll need to clean the entire pipe to unclog it.
Downstems can get stuck inside a ground joint, such that it feels like they can’t be removed for cleaning. In this case, try heating the joint with a lighter or torch to loosen the seal. If this doesn’t work, try taking something that vibrates - such as an electric toothbrush - and hold it against the side of the joint. The vibrations should loosen the seal between the downstem and joint, allowing you to retrieve the downstem.
Be mindful of sharp edges when handling our grinders as their teeth are very sharp, intended for shredding raw flower. Occasionally, our colored grinders can lose some of their superficial dye coating during the grinding process. This material is non-toxic but can affect the flavor of your plant matter. We recommend you twist the grinder several times before the first use to shed any excess coating.
If your grinder becomes stuck, use a jar opener (the rubber kind) to help loosen it. If this continues to happen, consider cleaning your grinder. Just refer to the "How to clean my grinder" entry in this FAQ.
The most common issue with Helix products is the airflow. If you don’t think your Helix™ is spinning the smoke properly, test its function using a small piece of paper about the size of a BB. Place the ball of paper in the Venturi chamber mouthpiece. If you’re testing a hand pipe, cover the carb with your finger. If you’re testing a water pipe, make sure the bowl is in place. Inhale from the mouthpiece as you would during use, steadily but firmly pulling air through the Venturi chamber. The ball of paper should spin around inside the chamber in a consistent clockwise motion. If it doesn’t, please reach out to [email protected] for guidance.
The purpose of the Helix design is to aerate and cool smoke. However, this can sometimes result in hits that are too light for veteran smokers. Please be aware of a product’s intended use before purchasing anything from GRAV. If you have a Helix but want to occasionally take more traditional hits, you can cover one or more of the air intake holes temporarily with a small segment of clear tape. The more holes you cover, the denser the hits will become. Be advised: doing this will disrupt the spinning action until the tape is removed.
- Cleaning Glass with Soaker:
We strongly encourage our glass customers to use a soaker, specifically our preferred partner, Grunge Off. Soaking your pipe in a cleaning solution is the simplest and most thorough cleaning method. We recommend Grunge Off, both for safety and efficacy. Grunge Off is citric acid-based and can be found here at GRAV.com. Whichever cleaning solution you decide to use, just make sure it’s intended for use with glass pipes or stemware. Depending on the strength of the solution, it may be powerful enough to fade the label on the outside of your pipe. To protect your label, simply cover it with a strip of blue painter’s tape. Remove the tape when you’ve finished cleaning and rinsing your pipe. If you’re cleaning a hand pipe or bubbler, find a container that will fit your piece (e.g. a sandwich Tupperware box). Place your pipe in the container and fill it with your chosen cleaning solution. Submerge the piece entirely and rotate it to allow any air bubbles to escape. Let the pipe soak anywhere between one hour and one day. The longer it soaks, the more tar will be dissolved and removed from your piece. Once you’ve finished soaking it, rinse your pipe over your kitchen sink with hot water. Most of the tar should have broken up and will be washed away. If there are any troublesome spots remaining, use a Q-Tip or pipe cleaner soaked in solution to scrub it manually. Rinse the piece again with cold water and let it dry before using it again. The same process applies to water pipes, except instead of filling a container with solution, simply fill the pipe itself. Block the pipe’s ground joint with a GRAV® Cleaning Plug (available in 14mm and 19mm), and use a funnel to fill it with solution. - Cleaning Glass with Alcohol Solution:
If you’d like to make your own pipe-cleaning solution from scratch, you’ll need salt and rubbing alcohol. A small bottle of isopropyl alcohol and coarse, kosher salt (used to brine) work best, and both should be available at your local grocery store. Mix equal parts of the alcohol and salt in a bowl or tupperware large enough to fit the piece you’d like to clean. Depending on the strength of the solution, it may be powerful enough to fade the label on the outside of your pipe. To protect your label, simply cover it with a strip of blue painter’s tape. Remove the tape when you’ve finished cleaning and rinsing your pipe. Let the piece soak in the saline mixture for anywhere between 1 hour and 1 day. The longer it soaks, the easier it will be to break up any tar and resin. Take the soaked pipe and fill it halfway with the solution using a funnel or measuring cup. If you’re cleaning a water pipe, consider blocking any joints with a GRAV® Cleaning Plug (available in 14mm and 19mm). If you’re cleaning a bubbler or hand pipe, simply block the necessary openings with your fingers. Shake the pipe vigorously but carefully. It’s best not to shake too close to any hard surfaces in order to avoid accidentally hitting the pipe against something and breaking it in your hand. Also, just in case your fingers slip and solution leaks out, you may want to avoid shaking near any fabrics or items that could be stained. As you shake the pipe, the solution should break up the tar and expose clean glass. Shake for 3 minutes, then empty the pipe down your kitchen sink while running hot water. You may need to refill the pipe and shake again multiple times until the piece is satisfactorily clean. If you find a particular spot is not getting clean, use a Q-Tip or pipe cleaner soaked in the solution to reach the spot and scrub it manually. When you’ve finished cleaning, rinse the pipe, first with hot water to remove any layer of remaining solution and then cold water to prevent the piece from fogging. Let it dry before using it again.
You shouldn't need a screen to use a GRAV pipe or bong. We recommend breaking off a piece of unground flower that's large enough to cover the restriction in a bowl or handpipe before layering ground flower on top of it. However, some customers prefer using metal screens so they don't need to make a nug plug and can just use ground flower. Screens can also make your pipe easier to clean after several uses. All GRAV handpipes and bowls are compatible with standard steel or copper screens. While GRAV.com doesn't sell screens, you can find them at most local headshops or at our partner store, 420science.com.
If the restriction (hole) in your bowl is so large that it continuously pulls flower through it, contact [email protected] to see if the piece is defective.
Ideally, the only pieces of the GRAV 3-piece grinder that may need cleaning are the lid and the middle component. You can scrub the teeth under hot water using a spare toothbrush or other firm-bristled brush. Dry these components thoroughly before reassembling your grinder to avoid damaging the threading. The bottom-most component - the kief compartment - shouldn't need to be cleaned. Its purpose is to store the kief that accumulates from grinding plant matter, and it should only be emptied using the curved GRAV® Scraper included with the grinder.
Other Info
Yes! We stand behind our brand (which is easy to do when your brand is awesome). If you buy a legitimate GRAV product on another website, at a shop, or in a dispensary, we'll work with you on any problem you might have just as though you'd purchased directly from us.
The only exceptions are online marketplaces where individuals resell products - Amazon, eBay, Craigslist, FB Marketplace, Wish, AliBaba, etc. We can't help with purchases from these places because there are so many illegitimate pieces being sold through them. We also prohibit our resellers from selling through these channels, so anyone selling GRAV there either didn't get it from us or is violating our order policies.
Please also keep in mind that if you purchase a GRAV product at another store and come to us for help with it, we can offer replacements, store credit, and advice, but not refunds. Because the original payment wasn't made to GRAV, GRAV can't refund it.
You don't, you can check out as a guest. But having an account is handy for earning rewards and tracking your order history, and it only takes 23 seconds to create one. If you ever want us to delete your account or unsubscribe you from our newsletter, just ask!
We do not. That would be awesome, but unfortunately, most of the time glass breaks, the easiest way to fix it is to melt it down and reshape it (aka, make a new bong).
Check out our glossary! And if you're still having trouble, reach out to [email protected] (and while you're at it, ask them to update the glossary).
GRAV was founded by Dave Daily in South Austin in 2004. As of 2024, we're still based in South Austin, but Dave has a lot more help (including a few folks out of state). If you want to know more, check out the GRAV timeline!
(Also, you might be wondering why we say "South" Austin instead of just Austin. If you ever have a chance to live in Austin, you'll understand. The Colorado River cuts the city in two, and the folks south of the river are traditionally more tattoos and tacos while the folks north of the river are more software and sushi. No shade, we love sushi too!)
GRAV pipes are made of borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is almost all silica (the core ingredient of glass) with a little boron trioxide thrown in. Because of the high proportion of silica, borosilicate glass is incredibly heat resistant, making it super durable and perfect for smoking.
The only glass type more heat resistant than boro is quartz (pure silica). We use quartz in our bangers and dabbing accessories so that dabbers can torch those tools to the high temperatures necessary for consuming wax and other concentrates. We'd love to make everything out of quartz, but that would be like making everything out of diamond - it would just be too expensive. Think of borosilicate as the platinum to quartz's diamond.
When you hear borosilicate, you might think of the brand Pyrex - they make glass cookware and measuring cups. Fun fact: when Pyrex was founded, they used only borosilicate, since it's perfect for cooking on the stove or in the oven or measuring hot liquids. However, several years ago, Pyrex started using soda-lime glass as well. This is the cheaper and weaker form of glass used in most cupware, vases, lightbulbs, windows, etc. So now GRAV bongs are stronger than a lot of Pyrex products!
