Shake is low-quality flower that's usually sold at a lower price than nug flower. Cannabis sellers typically store their nuggets of flower in large, air-tight bags. As the flower moves around in the bag, small fragments of plant matter come off the nugs and fall to the bottom of the bag, like crumbs in a bag of chips. This leftover material is shake. Because it doesn't include the dense, inner components and folds of the full cannabis flower, it also doesn't include as many trichomes, and thus is lower in THC content. Shake is intended for smokers on a budget, making cannabis edibles like pot brownies, or selling to people you don't like or respect.
