12 Cookie Recipes for Making Your Spirits Lit AF

Hi, my name is Megan and I am Cookie Monster. “Me Want Cookie” is a statement that will be true for me 100% of the time. So yah, I am writing an entire blog about cookies. You can thank me later… preferably with some homemade cookies.

The holiday season is the time of year where I choose to forgo the formalities of dessert and pretty much stuff my face with sweet treats around the clock. Cookies and coffee for breakfast may not be great for my body, but it sure does help with my holiday anxiety. That is why I decided to share these 12 unique, must try holiday cookie recipes. Eat them, gift them, share them, infuse them with cannabis… there are so many possibilities.

Now, you have a few choices to make here. Do want your cookies to get you hella blazed, gently lit, or are you more of the eat a dozen cookies alone under the Christmas tree while listening the N’Sync Christmas album and smoking your cannabis type? There are no wrong choices here, only wrong preparations. Lucky for you, I have come bearing gifts in the form of options and guidance.

Let's make some edibles.

If your baking goals involve a beautiful and powerful body high, then it’s time to break out the cannabis and get to work. Infusing your food with weed is as simple as replacing a portion of the butter or oil in your favorite recipes with an infused version. If you have never made canna-butter before then check out this recipe to get started. Do you prefer to use coconut oil in your recipes? This canna-oil recipe will have you making stoney creations in no time. If you are not experienced with edibles, I would like to offer a warning here. START SMALL! You have probably heard this before, but I urge you not to ignore it. Our bodies process cannabis differently when digesting it versus smoking it and even the most seasoned smokers can have an adverse reaction to edibles if they are not properly prepared. If you know your dosing, great. If you aren’t sure about dosing your edibles then check out this FREE online course for some quick guidance to ensure a pleasant edible experience. I also recommend that when infusing your recipes, you only replace ¼ to ½ of the butter or oil with your infused substitution to ensure that you don’t overwhelm the flavor of your food. Adjust your infusion potency accordingly for proper dosing.

Is it time to try Micro-dosing?

If you are new to edibles and concerned about the dosing, micro-dosing is a great option. Keep each cookie at one to five milligrams of THC (see this online course for assistance with dosing) and start with one cookie a day. This will help with finding your ideal dosage as well as learning how fast your body feels the high after consumption.

Alternatively, if you know your dosing but want to be able to eat more than one cookie at a time, micro-dosing allows for you to eat more while maintaining your ideal high. Win-win.

Maybe you should stick to munchies…

If the concept of dosing edibles gives you anxiety, you’ve had a negative experience with edibles, or you just prefer to smoke your cannabis, that’s okay. These cookies are perfect as is and make superb holiday munchies. Sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry, you know.

I, myself, prefer the micro-dosing and munchie options. My body has never really processed edibles pleasantly in large doses and I accept that. Head over to my Holiday Strain Guide to find the perfect high for your vibes this season and whip up a few dozen cookies for when the munchies hit. And don’t forget… sharing is caring!

For all my Vegan friends

So, don’t hate me… but none of the cookies on this list are vegan! I know, and I apologize. So if you are not feeling like converting these recipes to fit your dietary needs I wanted to go ahead and suggest that you check out all of the scrumptious cookies over on The Vegan 8 blog! She is a fellow Texan with a heart of gold and a gift for creating easy and delicious vegan recipes! You may have to get creative with your canna-infusions, but it will be worth it, I promise!

Let’s start baking!

  1. 1

    Caramel Apple X Dear Crissy

One of my favorite desserts during the winter season is hot apple pie, ala mode! I swoon over it! Unfortunately, I do not have the nuanced skill (patience) for making pies, so these cookies felt like the perfect alternative. Serving a la mode is optional, sure, but is it really?

  2. 2

White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal X Salt and Baker

Just reading the name of these cookies makes my mouth water. I am an oatmeal cookie girl to the core, no raisins please. The dried cranberries paired with white chocolate in these little treats is both decadent and filled with winter nostalgia. Consider these your - glass of ice-cold milk and animated holiday movies with the fam - cookies.

  3. 3

Soft Cinnamon Roll X Moms Kitchen

If you are looking for all of the ooey gooey deliciousness of a cinnamon roll, but in a cookie, consider your wish granted. I suggest serving these warm and doubling the icing! If you are not covered in frosting when you finish eating these, you did it wrong!

  4. 4

    Maple Sugar X Dear Crissy

I am a sucker for anything maple, so I decided to pass on the traditional sugar cookie recipe and go for the more winter-vibey version. Think pancakes but more decadent! Yes, please! Take these cookies up a notch by adding some bacon-style coconut shavings! I’m not drooling, you’re drooling.

  5. 5

Peppermint Bark X Sally’s Baking Addiction

Peppermint bark is a holiday classic and one of my all-time favorite treats. Meet the cookie version. This sort of reminds me of a thin mint cookie but better because its homemade and has white chocolate!

  6. 6

Hot Chocolate X Like Mother Like Daughter

If you thought I was going to do a holiday cookie post and not find a hot chocolate cookie, you clearly have not been paying attention. Hot chocolate is my one true holiday love and is a non-negotiable for me to get in the spirit. The marshmallow on top of these cookies really takes it home. While these will, of course, taste delicious cold or at room temperature… be respectful, serve them warm!

  7. 7

Salted Chocolate Chunk Shortbread X Saving Room for Dessert

I am legit mad that this is the first I am hearing of adding chocolate chips to shortbread cookies. Where have I been? What is my life? Have I lived before now? These salted chocolate chunk shortbread cookies are here to satisfy all of your cravings. Butter? Chocolate? Salt? Sugar? Yah, she has them all and our lives are forever changed!

  8. 8

    Eggnog Biscotti X Souffle Bombay

I am a full-on coffee addict, so a biscotti cookie was a no brainer for the list. This girl needs something crunchy and sweet to dip! Am I right? Plus, these biscotti cookies have whiskey in them so… again… no brainer. A biscotti is classic, eggnog is a holiday classic, what are you even waiting for?

  9. 9

Spicy & Chewy Ginger Molasses X Modern Glam

This is the ginger snaps softer and fancier sister. I personally could eat a whole box of ginger snaps by mah damn self so it’s probably not a great idea for me to make something that tastes better, but yah, these do. The chew is decadent, and the spice is perfect for all the winter feels!

  10. 10

    Butter Snowballs X Kristine’s Kitchen

All of the cookies on this list are super giftable, but these lil snowballs are top of the gift list. They are obviously perfectly on brand for the winter season and they are perfectly melt in your mouth buttery sweet.

  11. 11

Brown Butter Pecan X Baker by Nature

Back to my heartbreaking revelation regarding my pie making skills, I LOVE PECAN PIE! I am a born and raised Texan and pecan pie sings to me like a country girls dream, despite the fact that I am definitely a city girl. These are a must try if you are a fan of brown sugar anything and they will have the added bonus of warming your heart!

  12. 12

Chai X Baked by an Introvert

When I was 16 years old, I ordered my very first Chai Frappuccino at a Starbucks in New York city. After one sip I closed my eyes and said, “Oh my god, it tastes just like Christmas”. I still believe this to be true. When I want to taste the spirit of the holidays, chai is my tried-and-true partner. These cookies are the chewy version of that! Serve alongside a dirty chai latte for added holiday cheer!
