Hi, my name is Megan and I am Cookie Monster. “Me Want Cookie” is a statement that will be true for me 100% of the time. So yah, I am writing an entire blog about cookies. You can thank me later… preferably with some homemade cookies.
The holiday season is the time of year where I choose to forgo the formalities of dessert and pretty much stuff my face with sweet treats around the clock. Cookies and coffee for breakfast may not be great for my body, but it sure does help with my holiday anxiety. That is why I decided to share these 12 unique, must try holiday cookie recipes. Eat them, gift them, share them, infuse them with cannabis… there are so many possibilities.
Now, you have a few choices to make here. Do want your cookies to get you hella blazed, gently lit, or are you more of the eat a dozen cookies alone under the Christmas tree while listening the N’Sync Christmas album and smoking your cannabis type? There are no wrong choices here, only wrong preparations. Lucky for you, I have come bearing gifts in the form of options and guidance.
Let's make some edibles.
If your baking goals involve a beautiful and powerful body high, then it’s time to break out the cannabis and get to work. Infusing your food with weed is as simple as replacing a portion of the butter or oil in your favorite recipes with an infused version. If you have never made canna-butter before then check out this recipe to get started. Do you prefer to use coconut oil in your recipes? This canna-oil recipe will have you making stoney creations in no time. If you are not experienced with edibles, I would like to offer a warning here. START SMALL! You have probably heard this before, but I urge you not to ignore it. Our bodies process cannabis differently when digesting it versus smoking it and even the most seasoned smokers can have an adverse reaction to edibles if they are not properly prepared. If you know your dosing, great. If you aren’t sure about dosing your edibles then check out this FREE online course for some quick guidance to ensure a pleasant edible experience. I also recommend that when infusing your recipes, you only replace ¼ to ½ of the butter or oil with your infused substitution to ensure that you don’t overwhelm the flavor of your food. Adjust your infusion potency accordingly for proper dosing.
Is it time to try Micro-dosing?
If you are new to edibles and concerned about the dosing, micro-dosing is a great option. Keep each cookie at one to five milligrams of THC (see this online course for assistance with dosing) and start with one cookie a day. This will help with finding your ideal dosage as well as learning how fast your body feels the high after consumption.
Alternatively, if you know your dosing but want to be able to eat more than one cookie at a time, micro-dosing allows for you to eat more while maintaining your ideal high. Win-win.
Maybe you should stick to munchies…
If the concept of dosing edibles gives you anxiety, you’ve had a negative experience with edibles, or you just prefer to smoke your cannabis, that’s okay. These cookies are perfect as is and make superb holiday munchies. Sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry, you know.
I, myself, prefer the micro-dosing and munchie options. My body has never really processed edibles pleasantly in large doses and I accept that. Head over to my Holiday Strain Guide to find the perfect high for your vibes this season and whip up a few dozen cookies for when the munchies hit. And don’t forget… sharing is caring!
For all my Vegan friends
So, don’t hate me… but none of the cookies on this list are vegan! I know, and I apologize. So if you are not feeling like converting these recipes to fit your dietary needs I wanted to go ahead and suggest that you check out all of the scrumptious cookies over on The Vegan 8 blog! She is a fellow Texan with a heart of gold and a gift for creating easy and delicious vegan recipes! You may have to get creative with your canna-infusions, but it will be worth it, I promise!

Chai X Baked by an Introvert
When I was 16 years old, I ordered my very first Chai Frappuccino at a Starbucks in New York city. After one sip I closed my eyes and said, “Oh my god, it tastes just like Christmas”. I still believe this to be true. When I want to taste the spirit of the holidays, chai is my tried-and-true partner. These cookies are the chewy version of that! Serve alongside a dirty chai latte for added holiday cheer!
