100% of proceeds will be used to fight for cannabis prisoner justice
We are so pleased to share the availability of a limited edition, co-branded spoon to benefit Last Prisoner Project (LPP). This glossy black hand pipe is $17.99 and features the same high-capacity bowl and inverted ash-catching mouthpiece as GRAV’s Classic Spoon. It’s etched with both the GRAV and LPP emblems.
GRAV fundraising efforts, including a rollup program launched this spring that allows customers to add $1 or $4.20 to their purchase, has enabled GRAV to donate $15,000 to LPP over the past two years.
This important nonprofit organization is focused on bringing restorative justice to the cannabis industry. This includes:
• Releasing individuals still incarcerated for victimless cannabis offenses and providing record clearing through clemency and expungement• Helping those released from prison rebuild their lives through vocational training programs and building pathways to employment
• Working on both federal and state levels to advocate for social justice measures for cannabis offenders and conducting research and analysis on current legislative and regulatory policies
While 33 states and Washington, D.C. allow medical marijuana, and 11 states have legalized recreational use, there are people in all 50 states sitting in jail for cannabis offenses. And despite nearly equal rates of use between white and black smokers, black Americans are nearly 4x more likely to be arrested for cannabis violations. While over 40,000 people are in prison for cannabis violations that are no longer illegal, companies and governments are making money selling the exact same product.
